What a verse! Neither was the man created for the woman, but the woman for the man. The woman for the man. For the man. That is who we were created for. Men. Because on the first days when Adam slept, God took from him a rib, and made us. But through birth we bring forth men. This makes man and woman interdependent, as we first came from man, but we give life to man, which wouldn’t be possible without the very same man.
So we cover our heads, because that is the order God has made. And we submit, not because we are inferior, but because we have been given the role of help-meet. Not to usurp authority, but to have the place to partake, not to be abused by the man but to be supported by him.
And, ladies, there is more power in that. We were made for the man, and the man just as much for us. But if it isn’t power you want, there is peace, because from the rivers of submission comes peace and contentment. Since in our rightful subordination that God has given there is faithful love and respect from the man.
In the end, it shouldn’t really be about selfishness. Our motives should be based all on the final glory of God. Even as we ask for extra bills for a dress, cry for a child or drive for better investments. Because at the end of the day it is all about Christ. So let us glory in our subordination-style wing-woman-ness, there is all the safety in that. And wait ever so patiently on the good Lord, who holds our rewards.
